Actions and qualities: Soothing to upset stomachs, antimicrobial, antispasmodic, used to treat coughs and cramping of all kinds. It smells like a sweet, floral oregano.
Specific uses: Most commonly used as a tea, as popular as a tincture, oxymel, or capsule. Externally can be used as a steam or poultice.

History and lore: It is a common treatment for bee sting when used immediately as a ‘spit poultice’ by chewing the leaves or flowers and placing directly on the skin, hence its common name beebalm.
