Actions and qualities: Calming and anxiety relieving, muscle relaxing, antibacterial, and antifungal. Used to help induce sleep, soothe upset stomachs, and treat headaches.
Specific uses: Used in tea, tincture, aromatherapy oils and sprays, added to baths or used in poultices or salves. Can also be burned as an incense. This subspecies of lavender is especially good for retaining flavor in culinary applications like cooking, infusing and fermenting.
Contraindications: There have been some reports of allergic reactions with skin contact. Do not consume in large doses. Should be avoided by those with blood sugar disorders and children under two. Pregnant and nursing mothers should consult a physician before use.
