Actions and qualities: Anti-inflammatory, wound healing, stimulates blood flow, immune boosting, digestive aid, aids in anxiety relief, regulates menstruation, treat hemorrhoids, and regulates blood pressure.
Specific uses: It can be used as a ‘spit poultice’ to offer fast relief and stop bleeding of wounds. It is often added into teas, tinctures, capsules, oils, salves, poultices, and bath teas. It has history as a culinary herb, sometimes used like a vegetable.
Contraindications: There have been some allergic reactions reported including contact dermatitis, nausea, and dizziness. It should be avoided by those with allergies in the Asteraceae (daisy) family. It has some reactions with many medications. Those on medications and pregnant and nursing mothers should consult a physician before use.
